Web Manager

GiveLight Foundation is a mission-driven organization that relies on each of its employees to own their area of expertise and make an impact. Our mission is to build beautiful homes and futures for orphans around the world. We are supporting 1,000+ orphans today with a goal to reach 10,000 children in the next 10 years. 

We are seeking a Web Manager to join our in-house IT team. The product of your work will be a clearer representation of GiveLight’s vision, mission, and organization to website visitors (interested volunteers, donors, etc.) utilizing your deep skill sets in front end web development and familiarity with graphic design. We hope to increase our focus on visual consistency and usability.

Strong preference will be given to those candidates that display an understanding of online marketing strategy (e.g. Google Ads, Facebook/Facebook Ads, Instagram, YouTube, and other interactive social media.

The position is a part-time addition (20-30 hours per week) for the first three months. After the 3-month period, a mutually agreed contract will be drawn between both parties and this role could lead to a full-time position with benefits. 


Day-to-Day Website Maintenance and Operation:

  • Regular update of content ensuring responsiveness.

  • Updating infrastructure at a framework level and component level 

  • Working with our web host to maintain site uptime and staging

  • Maintaining and improving site speed 

  • Understanding and applying SEO best practices

  • Test case development

  • Exploring new technologies


Collaboration with External Groups:

  • Facebook ads and analytics

  • Google ads and analytics

  • Blackbaud eTapestry 

  • Volunteers


Social Media/Marketing: 

  • Create images/videos inline with our brand identity for website and social media campaigns.

  • Maintenance of our YouTube channel. 

  • Facebook page updates


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience (having developed websites on your own). 

  • A knowledge of web usability principles and basic heuristics.

  • Experience in front end development using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing social media communities on networks social media platforms.

  • A passion and portfolio for visual design and communication through digital media.

  • Creative copywriting

  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, present key findings, and apply findings to future programs.
