GiveLight Foundation (GLF) is a non-profit organization based in, Santa Clara, California. The Foundation was established in the wake of the Indonesian tsunami in 2004, when a massive number of children were left without parents and/or family.  GLF’s mission is to build futures for orphans around the world; our homes are built in areas where children were affected by natural disaster, poverty and war.  Inspired by Islamic values we strive to help orphans across the globe regardless of nationality, race or religion. Position Overview

GiveLight is seeking an experienced full time Marketing Manager to drive awareness and fundraising efforts globally. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of driving growth and engagement through digital and offline marketing channels. The position is based out of our Santa Clara, CA office and will report directly to to the CEO, Dian Alyan.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Create a master marketing strategy and plan for Givelight - this is a preview of your plan for the year by category and includes details like channels used, engagement details by channel, campaign/outreach examples by channel, and expected return.

  • Your marketing strategy will address:

    • Awareness

    • Engagement

    • Fundraising

  • Create a marketing budget: this includes channel selection, funds, tools and resources needed by channel, costs, and estimated ROI per channel



  • Develop the Givelight brand further: look and feel, messaging, marketing alignment

  • You will be expected to deploy the marketing plan across Awareness, Engagement, and Fundraising

    • You will deploy campaigns aligned to the plan online and offline, including but not limited to:

      • Social Media

      • Corporate Engagement

      • Donor Outreach & Engagement

      • Newsletter Creation

      • Events

      • Campaign deployment

      • PR/Comms

  • Analyze success of outreach via online and offline analytics and tracking

  • Launch and maintain donor CRM system


Large Donor Engagement

  • We have an opportunity to better engage our existing donors

    • Analyze existing top givers; include them in special opportunities to more deeply engage with Givelight

    • Analyze stagnant givers, and connect with them to earn more of their donations

  • Find new donors; expand the “premium” donor base in order to grow Givelight’s core group of donors



  • The purpose of our marketing is to increase donations from new donors and expand giving from existing donors, fundraising tactics will be explored in the marketing plan, however core channels include:

    • GL Catalyst Speaker’s Program - this is a speaking program designed to engage employees at corporations with matching programs to donate to Givelight
    • Large Scale Annual Events - these are our national and regional events designed to engage a large number of donors

    • Online Fundraising - creating the right online flows to create frequent fundraising opportunities (e.g. campaigns) for new and existing donors



  • 2+ years in a professional marketing role

  • Track record of establishing and executing programs and campaigns

  • Tech savvy: familiar with GDocs/Office/Design programs

  • Excellent writer and/or content producer

  • Bachelor's degree required
